- Senior Judge, Superior Court of Fulton County (2018–Present)
- Alford J. Dempsey, Jr. is a retired senior judge of the Superior Court of Fulton County, Georgia, serving in that role from 2018 until his retirement in May 2018
- 1995–2018: Judge, Fulton County Superior Court, presiding over civil and felony criminal cases, and instrumental in developing the Fulton County Family Court
- Judge, Fulton County Magistrate Court (1992–1995)

- He later received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1976
- He attended New Hampton School in New Hampshire, then studied pre‐medicine at Columbia University before transferring to Morehouse College, where he obtained a B.A. in Economics in 1972, Cum Laude.
