## Biography

### Professional career

- Distinguished judge of the Coweta Judicial Circuit in Georgia, serving from 1987 until 2012, and widely respected for his judicial work and integrity
- Began his judicial service in 1987 as a judge on the Coweta Circuit of Georgia, a position he held until the end of his term in 2012

### Education

- Both his undergraduate degree and J.D. from the University of Georgia.

### Additional information

- His successor, Emory Palmer, was elected to replace him in January 2013
- First elected to the Coweta Circuit in 1986 and chose not to seek re-election in 2012, after more than 26 years on the bench.
- He was admitted to the Georgia bar in 1969 and previously served in the U.S. Air Force before returning to practice law in 1972
- Before joining the superior court, he held the role of a judge on the Troup County State Court and Troup County Juvenile Court
