### Professional career

- American attorney and retired judge who held the role of Chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery from May 5, 2014, to April 30, 2021
- In 1996, he co‐founded Lamb & Bouchard (later Bouchard, Margules & Friedlander) as managing partner
- Joined Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison as a litigation partner in Wilmington, DE

- B.A. summa cum laude from Boston College in 1983 and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1986

### Additional information

- Bouchard announced his retirement in December 2020, effective April 2021.
- Appointed by Governor Jack Markell in 2014 and confirmed by the Delaware Senate, Bouchard succeeded Leo E. Strine Jr..
- Admitted to the Delaware Bar in 1986, Bouchard began as a corporate litigator at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
- Bouchard was born in 1961 near Montreal, Quebec, Canada, of French‐Canadian origin, and later moved with his family to Wilmington, Delaware.
