Scope: statewide

Electronic media and still-photography coverage is allowed in Florida public trial and appellate proceedings under Rule 2.450's equipment and conduct standards, always subject to the presiding judge's control of decorum, distractions, and fair administration.

Evidence excerpt: Subject at all times to the authority of the presiding judge to: (i) control the conduct of proceedings before the court; (ii) ensure decorum and prevent distractions; and (iii) ensure the fair administration of justice in the pending cause, electronic media and still photography coverage of public judicial proceedings in the appellate and trial courts of this state shall be allowed

### Professional career

- Andrea Wolfson joined the Florida Eleventh Circuit Court in June 2018 by Governor Rick Scott, filling the vacancy left by Judge Antonio Marin

- Prior to her Circuit Court appointment, Wolfson served on the Miami-Dade County Court, initially appointed in May 2010 by Governor Charlie Crist, and subsequently elected in 2012 and 2018.
- a Juris Doctor with Honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law (2001).
- Andrea Ricker Wolfson was born in 1973 in Illinois.
- handling serious felony cases, including death penalty cases.
- Before joining the judiciary, Wolfson worked as a prosecutor with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office and held the role of a Special Assistant United States Attorney with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.
- She presides primarily in the Criminal Division
- On the County Court bench, she oversaw DUI, criminal traffic, misdemeanor cases, civil domestic violence injunctions, and uncontested divorces, and also served in an appellate capacity over administrative matters
- She was admitted to practice law in Florida after meeting the state’s five-year practice requirement for judicial eligibility
- She has also contributed to judicial professionalism as co-chair of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Professionalism Committee and has been actively involved in Problem-Solving Courts
