## Biography

### Professional career

- The first female judge in the 34‐year history of Clermont County, Ohio’s Municipal Court, serving as administrative judge and presiding over specialized dockets such as OVI (Operating a Vehicle Impaired) and Mental Health cases

### Education

- Anita M. Bechmann was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1992, earning her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati and her undergraduate degree from the College of Mount Saint Joseph.

### Additional information

- In July 2022, Governor John DeWine appointed her to the Clermont County Municipal Court bench; she was elected to the remainder of the term in 2023
- For nearly 20 years, she worked with the Clermont County Public Defender, including 10 years in juvenile and municipal courts, and held the role of a magistrate for 7 years.
- Began as an associate attorney, later founding her own practice in criminal and civil matters, and also practiced before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit
- Judge Bechmann is a member of the Clermont County Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Ohio Judicial College, and the Association of Municipal/County Judges of Ohio.
