### Professional career

- Anthony R. Suarez is a New Jersey attorney and former Ridgefield mayor, appointed in 2023 to the Bergen County Superior Court’s Civil Division after being acquitted of corruption charges in 2010
- As of now, Judge Suarez serves on the Bergen County Superior Court bench
- Current position: Judge, Bergen County Superior Court, Civil Division
- He also held roles such as Acting Director for the Bergen County Department of Community Transportation

- In January 2023, Governor Phil Murphy nominated Suarez to the New Jersey Superior Court, and the New Jersey Bar Association’s Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee approved him as qualified.
- From 1998 to 2023, Suarez served on the Ridgefield Borough Council and as mayor (2004–2023), becoming the first elected Latino mayor in Bergen County.
- He was admitted to the New Jersey and New York bars in 1993 and 1994, respectively, and practiced law in Fort Lee before entering public service
- Born in Englewood, NJ in 1967, Suarez graduated from Ridgefield Memorial High School (1984), Saint Peter’s College (BA, 1988), and Fordham University School of Law (JD, 1993).
