### Professional career

- Special Superior Court Judge appointed by Governor Roy Cooper in 2018
- She was first elected to the District Court in 2004, re-elected in 2012 and 2016, and later appointed chief judge
- Chief District Court Judge for the same district from 2009
- District Court Judge for the 29B Judicial District (Henderson, Polk, Transylvania counties)
- Appointed Superior Court Judge for Judicial District 42 in North Carolina, serving Henderson, Polk, and Transylvania counties, following the retirement of Judge Peter Knight
