## Biography

### Professional career

- On May 27, 2010, she was appointed Chief Magistrate Judge of DeKalb County
- In 1995, she became a staff attorney for Judge Denise L. Majette in the State Court of DeKalb County
- As Chief Judge, she manages the criminal, civil, and ordinance divisions, as well as the Pretrial Services Office
- Judge Anderson has extensive training in domestic violence and elder abuse and has provided training to judges, attorneys, and court personnel nationwide

- University of Akron’s C. Blake McDowell College of Law, graduating in — J.D. (1991)
- Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media Arts and Journalism from Hampton University

### Additional information

- A StoryCorps interview with her and her mother aired on NPR in 2010, the day she was sworn in as Chief Magistrate Judge
- In 2005, she was appointed a full‐time Associate Magistrate Judge, serving six years and handling both civil and criminal matters
