### Professional career

- Current Role: Associate Justice, Supreme Court of Puerto Rico (2025–present)
- Puerto Rican jurist who, as of January 16, 2025, serves as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, appointed by Governor Jenniffer González-Colón
- On January 16, 2025, she was sworn in as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, succeeding Anabelle Rodríguez
- In 2022, Governor Pedro Pierluisi appointed her Judge of the Court of Appeals, receiving the highest evaluation (“exceptionally well qualified”) from the Judicial Evaluation Commission

- In 2000, she completed her Juris Doctor degree, also cum laude, at the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico School of Law, where she was recognized as the most distinguished student in administrative law functions

### Additional information

- In 2010, Governor Luis Fortuño appointed her Superior Judge in the Judicial Region of Fajardo, and in 2018 she became Administrative Judge of that region.
- Born December 3, 1974 in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, and raised in Las Marías, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Accounting), cum laude, from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez.
- Rivera Pérez began her legal career as a legal officer at the Puerto Rico Court of Appeals, where she discovered her judicial calling.
- She was known for leadership in crisis management, including hurricane recovery, and for advancing judicial technology such as videoconferencing and the SUMAC family law system
