### Professional career

- Carol D. Codrington is the first African American justice on California’s Fourth District Court of Appeal, serving since 2010 in Division Two (Riverside) and re‐elected in 2022
- 2007–2010: Judge, Riverside Superior Court
- 2006–2007: Commissioner, Riverside Superior Court
- 2001–2004: Associate General Counsel, Los Angeles Unified School District
- 1999–2001: Deputy City Attorney, Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office
- 1997–2000: Director, Western Law Center for Disability Rights
- 1986–1997: Private practice at Burke, Robinson & Pearman; later partner at Mallory and Brown-Curtis
- Associate Justice, Division Two, California Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District (Riverside)

- in Sociology: Loyola Marymount University — B.A.

- She also served as an adjunct professor at Loyola Law School and was active in numerous bar associations, including the Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles and the California Association of Black Lawyers
