### Professional career

- “Donny” Peppers, Sr. was a distinguished state court judge in Walker County, Georgia, serving for 26 years before retiring in 2011, and later appointed as a Senior Judge
- Peppers was appointed Judge of the State Court of Walker County in 1985 by then-Governor Joe Frank Harris and was reelected unopposed seven times, serving until June 30, 2011
