### Additional information

- Charles Michael Sullivan (1955 – 2008) was a U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) employee who held the role of an Acting Administrative Appeals Judge before his death in 2008
- Until 2006: held the role of Acting Administrative Appeals Judge — a judicial role within the SSA adjudicating disability appeals
- Began practicing law in 1986 with the Womble, Carlisle, Sandrich and Rice Law Firm in Winston‐Salem, NC
- After college, Sullivan joined the U.S. Army for a six‐year tour, during which he received the Good Conduct Medal
- He was recognized for outstanding service, including the Brookings Institute Congressional Fellowship and commendations from Congressman Virgil Goode
