### Professional career

- Prior to this, Merritt was a municipal court judge for the City of Madison (since 1987) and the City of Rutledge
- Charles W. Merritt Jr. is the Judge of the Morgan County Probate Court in Georgia, elected in 2012 and re‐elected in 2016
