### Professional career

- Judge Christopher McDowell was appointed by Governor Mike DeWine to the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas General Division on August 22, 2025, filling the seat vacated by Tom Heekin
- He acted as both a prosecutor and defense attorney, concluding his military service as head of the criminal defense office at Fort Riley, Kansas, providing legal services for soldiers of the First Infantry Division
- He enlisted in the Army Reserves at age 17, later attending college through the GI Bill and commissioning as an Army officer
