Christy J. Kisner serves as an Immigration Judge at the [Sterling Immigration Court](/kyj/court/va/sterling-immigration-court), with jurisdiction over Virginia cases. She was officially appointed and sworn in by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) in September 2026, following a competitive selection process.
Her appointment was announced in EOIR’s September 24, 2026 press release, under Attorney General Todd Blanche, during the administration of President Donald Trump. She is one of 47 new immigration judges and 6 temporary immigration judges appointed that month.
