Scope: statewide

Alabama Rule of Criminal Procedure 9.4 permits televising, photographing, or radio broadcasting of judicial proceedings only as provided by Alabama judicial ethics canons, law, or another court rule.

Evidence excerpt: The taking of television pictures or other photographs in or of the courtroom during the progress of judicial proceedings or the radio broadcasting of judicial proceedings may be permitted as provided in Canon 3(A)(7) and (7B), Canons of Judicial Ethics, promulgated by the Alabama Supreme Court, or as otherwise may be permitted by law or other rule of court.

- A native of Demopolis and Marengo County, Alabama, Seale earned two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Alabama in 2012 — in Commerce & Business Administration and Human Environmental Sciences — and her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2016.

### Additional information

- Corey G. Seale was appointed by Alabama Governor Kay Ivey in January 2026 as Circuit Judge in the Sixth Judicial Circuit for Tuscaloosa County, becoming the first woman to preside over criminal jury trials in the county’s history.
- Began her legal career in private practice before joining the Tuscaloosa County District Attorney’s Office, where she held the role of an assistant DA for eight years, supervising other attorneys and prosecuting thousands of felony cases.
