## Biography

### Professional career

- In October 2019, Jones was appointed Municipal Court Judge of Macon-Bibb County, succeeding Judge Bobby Faulkner
- She then held the role of Assistant County Attorney and later Senior Assistant County Attorney for Macon-Bibb County

### Education

- Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law — J.D.
- A native of Macon-Bibb County, Jones earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Service cum laude from Middle Georgia State University (MGA), where she was named President’s Scholar, received the Division of Social Sciences Academic Excellence Award, and held the role of Student Government Association president for two years.

### Additional information

- Before joining the court, Jones worked in private practice in Valdosta, GA
- handling appellate cases, insurance defense, personal injury, criminal defense, contracts, and workers’ compensation.
- overseeing litigation, ordinances, and legal counsel for multiple departments
- She has also been involved in community initiatives, including encouraging law students to assist in prosecuting blight cases
- She also holds mediation certification and is a registered neutral with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution Macon-Bibb County, Georgia
- Beyond the bench, Jones serves on the MGA Foundation Board of Trustees for a three-year term, chairs the MGA Trustee Development Committee, and has been recognized in the University’s Teacher Education and Social Work Wall of Fame.
- She also participates in charitable activities and serves on the MGA Alumni Board
- Law school participation included Phi Alpha Delta, Black Law Students Association and Association of Women Law Students.
