Scope: statewide

Electronic media and still-photography coverage is allowed in Florida public trial and appellate proceedings under Rule 2.450's equipment and conduct standards, always subject to the presiding judge's control of decorum, distractions, and fair administration.

Evidence excerpt: Subject at all times to the authority of the presiding judge to: (i) control the conduct of proceedings before the court; (ii) ensure decorum and prevent distractions; and (iii) ensure the fair administration of justice in the pending cause, electronic media and still photography coverage of public judicial proceedings in the appellate and trial courts of this state shall be allowed

## Biography

### Professional career

- 2023–present: Chief Judge, Sixth District Court of Appeal
- Traver has held the role of Chief Judge of the Sixth District Court of Appeal since January 1, 2023, a position created that year
- Chief Judge Dan Traver is the presiding judge of Florida’s Sixth District Court of Appeal, appointed in 2023 by Governor Ron DeSantis after serving on the Fifth District Court of Appeal and as a circuit judge in the Ninth Judicial Circuit
- 2014–2019: Appointed by Governor Rick Scott as a circuit judge in Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit (Orange and Osceola Counties)

### Education

- B.A. in Psychology (Law & Society concentration) from Cornell University, where he was a Division I track and cross‐country athlete.
