### Professional career

- Pennsylvania Supreme Court — Justice, 2024–present
- Democratic Party judge serving on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court since January 2024, after a career in law, public service, and the U.S. Army
- Pennsylvania Superior Court — Judge, 2020–2024
- McCaffery is Justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, elected in the November 7, 2023 general election, defeating Republican Carolyn Tornetta Carluccio with 53.5% of the vote
- Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas — Judge, 2014–2019
- Before judicial service, McCaffery was Assistant District Attorney for Philadelphia County (1991–1997) and a shareholder at Friedman, Schuman P.C. (1997–2014)
- Graduated Father Judge High School (1982)
- Brother of former Pennsylvania Superior Court Judge and Supreme Court Justice Seamus McCaffery, making them the first siblings to serve on Pennsylvania’s highest appellate courts
