- Case details: Arrested in February 2017 in Alabama during a DEA sting operation; pleaded guilty to the federal charge; sentenced by U.S. District Judge L. Scott Coogler to the mandatory minimum of five years

- While currently serving as a municipal judge, Daniel A. Guzman II (a different individual with the same name) was previously the former Edcouch Municipal Judge who was sentenced in 2017 to five years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine
