- Judge of Probate for the Tobacco Valley Probate District since his election in 2022
- The Probate Judge for Connecticut’s Tobacco Valley Probate District, serving Bloomfield, East Granby, Suffield, and Windsor Locks

- 1982 graduate of Hamilton College and a 1985 graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law
- In his own words, Judge Mara’s mission is to make the probate process “clear, respectful, and fair” for families navigating difficult times
- Before his judicial role, he had a 40+ year career in Connecticut’s commercial and trial law practice
- He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Hartford County Bar Association
