### Professional career

- At trial, the prosecutor made a single inappropriate opening statement remark that the victim was “in every woman’s worst nightmare.” Hutchins objected, but the court noted the prosecutor would not repeat it

- In September 2005, Hutchins allegedly broke into a home and engaged in nonconsensual sexual acts with a sleeping minor.
- DNA evidence linked him to the victim.
- Martin David Hutchins Jr. is not a judge but the appellant in a series of Minnesota criminal appeals involving charges of third‐degree criminal sexual conduct and first‐degree burglary
