- Dean Black (full name Kelvin Dean Black) was a District Court Judge for North Carolina’s 27B Judicial District, covering Cleveland and Lincoln counties

- Retirement: His seat was vacated in 2024 upon his retirement, and Angela Woods joined fill the position
- 16 years in the same judicial district, making him one of the longest‐serving district court judges in North Carolina
