### Professional career

- Desiree Sutton Peagler is a judge of the DeKalb County Juvenile Court in Georgia, previously serving as its Chief Judge from 2005 to 2015, and is recognized for her leadership in juvenile justice and community service
- Before joining the court, she served as an Assistant District Attorney in DeKalb County for about nine years

- B.A. in Comprehensive Language Arts from Troy State University in 1984 and a J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 1987.

- The City of Doraville named February 1, 2011, in her honor, and DeKalb County declared September 19, 1997, as Desiree Sutton Peagler Day
- In 2010, she received the Distinguished Service Award from the DeKalb History Center for her leadership in law and justice.
- Joined the DeKalb County Juvenile Court bench in 1997 by the Superior Court judges of DeKalb County.
- She is admitted to the Georgia Bar (1987) and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia (1988)
