Scope: statewide

Electronic media and still-photography coverage is allowed in Florida public trial and appellate proceedings under Rule 2.450's equipment and conduct standards, always subject to the presiding judge's control of decorum, distractions, and fair administration.

Evidence excerpt: Subject at all times to the authority of the presiding judge to: (i) control the conduct of proceedings before the court; (ii) ensure decorum and prevent distractions; and (iii) ensure the fair administration of justice in the pending cause, electronic media and still photography coverage of public judicial proceedings in the appellate and trial courts of this state shall be allowed

- Beyond her judicial duties, Judge Gonzalez-Whyte remains active in the legal community, participating in professional and civic initiatives that support the administration of justice and the advancement of the legal profession

- B.A. in sociology from Northeastern University in Boston and a J.D. from St.

- She also practiced law in private firms, specializing in family law, domestic violence, immigration, criminal defense, and civil litigation
- After law school, she clerked for a civil litigation firm and then joined the Miami-Dade Public Defenders Office, gaining extensive courtroom experience.
- Her election marked a historic milestone as the first Colombian-American judge elected in Florida
