## Biography

### Professional career

- Judge E. Rania Rampersad is a nonpartisan judge on Department 11 of the King County Superior Court in Washington, appointed in 2023 and re‐elected in 2024, with a career spanning judicial, legal aid, and international human rights work
- Judicial roles: Public defender for Yakima County’s DUI Court; presiding over Redmond Community Court hearings
- Criminal justice: Public defender and prosecutor
- Civil law: Emergency domestic violence and sexual assault protection orders; class action litigation; civil prosecutor in licensing matters; civil legal aid for indigent clients
- Began her legal career clerking for then‐Chief Justice Barbara Madsen of the Washington State Supreme Court
