- Secretary of Justice of Puerto Rico (2005–2008)
- Former roles in the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Division (1999–2000)
- Juez del Tribunal de Apelaciones (Judge of the Court of Appeals)
- Judge of the Puerto Rico Court of Appeals, officially listed in the Tribunal de Apelaciones roster, and is also registered with the Tribunal Supremo de Puerto Rico under bar number 7664

### Education

- J.D. magna cum laude from the Catholic University of Puerto Rico (1982) and a Master of Laws from Yale Law School (1998)
