Electronic media and still-photography coverage is allowed in Florida public trial and appellate proceedings under Rule 2.450's equipment and conduct standards, always subject to the presiding judge's control of decorum, distractions, and fair administration.

## Biography

### Professional career

- Judge Eric C. Roberson is a nonpartisan judge of Florida’s 4th Judicial Circuit, currently facing formal misconduct charges from the Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission (JQC) over alleged inappropriate remarks in multiple 2025 court hearings
- Eric C. Roberson has served on the 4th Judicial Circuit Court since 2017, appointed by then-Governor Rick Scott to fill a vacancy created by Judge Mark Hulsey’s resignation
- Roberson’s attorney, Scott Richardson, submitted a July 13, 2026 letter stating the judge’s conduct “is not that of which he most proud” but “has nonetheless not disqualified him from holding judicial office”
- He previously held the role of Duval County Court judge (2015–2017) and as an assistant state attorney for the 4th Judicial Circuit

- Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida and a J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law.
