### Professional career

- Judge Erika D. Ballou, an elected Nevada 8th Judicial District Court judge, was suspended without pay for 18 months in 2025 for judicial misconduct and resigned in May 2026, agreeing to a permanent bar from judicial office
- Elected on November 3, 2020 to serve as a judge in Department 24 of the 8th Judicial District Court of Nevada, covering Clark County

- B.A. in African American Studies (UCLA, 1993) and a J.D. from Tulane Law School (2003), and is licensed in Nevada and California
