### Professional career

- Governor Josh Stein appointed Judge Reid to the Superior Court for Judicial District 1 on May 16, 2025, covering Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Pasquotank, and Perquimans counties
- Superior Court Judge for North Carolina’s First Judicial District, appointed in May 2025 to replace the retired Judge Jerry Tillett, with a background of over 25 years in law and a strong record of public service
- Previously an emergency superior court judge and held the role of a superior court judge from 2021–2022, after 14 years as a district court judge.
- Judge Reid emphasizes impartial application of the law, compassion, and accessibility to the public
- Lifelong North Carolinian who began her legal career in a private law firm, rising from secretary to office manager
- She then held the role of an Assistant District Attorney, balancing community safety with rehabilitation
