### Professional career

- Judge on the Whatcom County Superior Court in Washington, elected in 2020, with a background in public service, prosecution, and legal advocacy
- held the role of judge pro tempore in Bellingham Municipal Court (2012–2013)
- Joined the Whatcom County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office as deputy prosecuting attorney (2010–2012)
- held a position as assistant city attorney for the Bellingham City Attorney’s Office (2008–2010)
- Returned to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office until his election
- Judges are supported by judicial assistants and court clerks, and cases are assigned by the Presiding Judge
