### Professional career

- Separate from his Georgia judicial service, Freddie Gunn also appears in U.S. federal court records as a plaintiff in a 2016 discrimination case against the Elmore County Board of Education in Alabama, where a magistrate judge issued a recommendation for summary judgment in his favor.

- Freddie Gunn is a Republican Party member and was a candidate for Chief Magistrate of the Bartow County Magistrate Court in the 2016 Georgia partisan primary.
- He received 14.44% of the vote and was defeated by Brandon Bryson and Bobby Wilson To qualify for the role, candidates must be county residents for at least one year, be at least 25 years old, and have a high school diploma or equivalent
