### Professional career

- George Manning Rountree (1942–2024) was a distinguished American attorney, former FBI agent, and 20‐year juvenile court judge in Georgia, known for his restorative‐justice approach to youth cases
- In 1970, he began private legal practice in Alma, Georgia, with Jones & Rountree, later co‐founding Rountree & Tuten in the Golden Isles with James Tuten, who became a Superior Court Judge
- George Rountree’s career spanned law enforcement, private practice, and the judiciary, with a particular legacy in juvenile justice
- His work emphasized youth rehabilitation and restorative justice, leaving a lasting impact on the legal community in Georgia
