- Presiding judge of the 27th Judicial District Court of Virginia, serving since 2009, with a career that includes over two decades as Commonwealth Attorney for Floyd County and recent service as Chief Judge
- Appointed General District Court Judge for the 27th Judicial District in 2003, continuing to serve in that capacity. held the role of Chief Judge for the last 15 years of his judicial tenure
- Public Service: Elected Commonwealth Attorney for Floyd County in 1991, serving until 2003
