## Biography

### Professional career

- Judge on the Atlantic Judicial Circuit Superior Court in Georgia, appointed in 2016 by Governor Nathan Deal, and most recently named Senior Judge of the Superior Courts of Georgia in 2026
- He has also held the role of a municipal judge for the City of Collins Municipal Court

- In March 2026, an Executive Order from the Governor of Georgia appointed him Senior Judge of the Superior Courts of Georgia
- Appointed February 15, 2016 by then‐Governor Nathan Deal to succeed the Hon.
- Before joining the bench, Cheney was a sole practitioner in Glen A. Cheney, P.C., in Tattnall County, Georgia.
- David L. Cavender.
- Atlantic Judicial Circuit Superior Court, which covers Bryan, Evans, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, and Tattnall counties.
- During his tenure, Cheney has presided over the Parental Accountability Court program, which offers alternatives to incarceration and assists delinquent child support payers in making regular payments.
