- Judge, Supreme Court of Delaware, 2004-present
- After retiring in 2015, Ridgely held the role of Senior Counsel at DLA Piper LLP (US) until 2019.
- Retired justice of the Supreme Court of Delaware, serving from 1994 until his retirement on January 31, 2015
- President Judge of the Delaware Superior Court from 1990 to 2004
- Judge on the Superior Court from 1984 to 2004, including 14 years as President Judge

### Education

- B.S. in Business Administration from Syracuse University (1971), a J.D. from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law (1973), and an LL.M. from George Washington University Law School (1974)

- In 2015, Delaware Governor Jack Markell awarded him the Order of the First State, the highest state honor, for his service.
- He was elected to the American Law Institute in 2009
