### Professional career

- From 2009 to 2012, Judge Shamsid-Deen was a compliance investigator with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies’ Civil Rights Division
- Passionate about being visible in the community, being relatable as a judge, and representing the court well
- Prior to his appointment, he served as a senior deputy district attorney in Denver, where he prosecuted organized crime, embezzlement and adulty felony cases.
