### Professional career

- Judge for the Probate and Juvenile Division of the Ross County Court of Common Pleas, having been elected to the bench on November 4, 2014, with his term commencing on February 9, 2015 and extending until February 8, 2027
- He then entered private practice, working at Benson & Benson (1982–2015) and later as a partner at Spetnagel & Benson (1985–1998)
- After law school, he began his legal career as an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office from 1982 to 1985.
