- The Democratic judge for Place 5 on the 15th Judicial Circuit in Alabama, elected in the November 8, 2016 general election unopposed
- He previously held the role of Place 1 judge on the court from September 2014 to December 2014
- He has also appointed retired Circuit Judge Eugene Reese as a mediator in a long‐running dispute over license awards, aiming for a “speedy and just resolution”
