## Biography

### Professional career

- Judge Jane P. Manning is a retired judge of the Cobb County State Court in Georgia, elected in 2016 and serving until January 1, 2027, after a 40-year legal career that included 15 years as Assistant Solicitor General
- Began her legal career in 1986 as a trial attorney in the Cobb County Solicitor General’s Office
- She was also managing partner at Hesmer & Manning for four years, and earlier served as an instructor at the Cobb Law Enforcement Academy teaching evidence and criminal law

### Education

- In May 2023, she completed a Master of Judicial Studies from the University of Nevada–Reno, with a thesis on the retrial of Leo Frank.
- Both her undergraduate and law degrees from Emory University.

### Additional information

- She was recognized for her judicial work, receiving the Traditions in Excellence in the Judiciary Award from the State Bar of Georgia in 2025 and the Judge A. Harris Adams Judge of the Year Award in 2022
- Elected to the Cobb County State Court in May 2016 and took office in January 2017.
- Before joining the judiciary, Manning served 15 years as Assistant Solicitor General for Cobb County.
