## Biography

### Professional career

- In March 2026, Rossell told the Kenosha County Board that a statewide shortage of attorneys—particularly those taking public defender cases—is a major cause of the county’s criminal case backlog, not the District Attorney’s Office.
- He noted that Kenosha County lost about 20% of its practicing attorneys between 2020 and 2024, and that defense attorney delays alone can push cases back 30–45 days
- Before joining the judiciary, Rossell worked in private practice and later held the role of an assistant district attorney for Kenosha County from 2003 to 2008.

### Education

- Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
