- Military Legal Career (1998–2018): held the role of an attorney, circuit judge, and chief circuit judge with the U.S. Army at multiple domestic and international posts, including Fort Bragg (NC), Fort Leavenworth (KS), Germany, Fort Bliss (TX), Fort Gordon (GA), Baghdad (Iraq), Italy, Bad Kreuznach (Germany), Okinawa (Japan), and Fort Campbell (KY)

- B.A. (1985) and J.D. (1988) from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School M.L.S. (1997) from the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School
