### Professional career

- Joined the bench by Governor Kristi Noem on August 9, 2021, following a career in both the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office
- Asst US Attorney District SD 2016-2021
- She became an assistant United States attorney for the District of South Dakota in 2016 and held the role of its Opioid Coordinator
- Earlier roles included special assistant United States attorney and assistant attorney general in the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office
- Circuit Judge in the Second Judicial Circuit of South Dakota, which covers parts of Lincoln and other counties

### Education

- A Sioux Falls native, she earned bachelor’s degrees in English and journalism from the University of South Dakota and a University of Nebraska College of Law degree in 2010.

- In October 2024, Judge Mammenga issued a ruling in a lawsuit challenging the South Dakota Department of Corrections’ choice of a new men’s prison site in Lincoln County.
