- Boston College Law School in — J.D. (1994)
- She graduated cum laude from Brandeis University in 1990 with a B.A. in History

### Additional information

- Governor Maura Healey nominated Allen to the Massachusetts Appeals Court on June 11, 2025, to replace Mark Green
- In 2019, Governor Charles D. Baker appointed Allen as an Associate Justice of the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court, where she presided over divorces, custody disputes, support actions, adoptions, parentage cases, and probate petitions, including the Department of Mental Health guardianship session in Middlesex County
- Before joining the bench, Allen practiced law for 25 years
- focusing on divorce, custody, parentage, alimony, guardianship, and mediation
- Served five years in Middlesex County and one year in Norfolk County
- She volunteered extensively, including serving on the Board of Directors of MetroWest Legal Services
- She is a former board member of the Massachusetts Probate and Family Inn of Court and currently serves on the Supreme Judicial Court Subcommittee on Judicial Well-Being
- Allen has been a frequent lecturer for law students, attorneys, and new judges on topics such as alimony, business valuations, evidence, mental health evaluations, courtroom management, and ethical considerations
