### Professional career

- Jimmy “Jim” C. Shirley, District Court Judge for Nevada’s Eleventh Judicial District, passed away on October 15, 2025, after a distinguished career in public service and the judiciary
- In 2015, he began serving as District Court Judge in the Sixth Judicial District, then continued in the newly created Eleventh Judicial District (Lander, Mineral, and Pershing Counties)
- After private legal practice, he joined the Pershing County District Attorney’s Office as Deputy DA in 2000, later being elected District Attorney in 2002
- His work included developing programs to support local merchants, easing court burdens, and serving as a special prosecutor in multiple counties
