## Biography

### Professional career

- He initially practiced as a specialist Family Law barrister — 1984–1995 before being appointed as a District Court Judge with a Family Court warrant in 1995, a position he held until his retirement in 2022

### Education

- John Adams began his legal career after graduating with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Auckland University in 1970 and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor the same year
