- Judge of Virginia’s 19th Judicial Circuit Court in Fairfax County, elected by the Virginia General Assembly in 2013 and sworn in on June 27, 2013
- 1993–2013: Partner at DiMuroGinsberg, P.C. (previously Greenberg, Bracken & Tran)
- 1988–1993: Prosecutor, Alexandria Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office
- 1991: Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, Eastern District of Virginia

- B.A. in Psychology from George Washington University (1981)

- Born January 30, 1960 in Saigon, Vietnam, the son of a South Vietnamese diplomat, Tran grew up in Northern Virginia.
