- Presiding judge for the 24th Judicial Circuit Court of Virginia, serving since 2008, with primary assignments in Campbell County and other counties in the circuit
- Judge Cook has been on the bench of the 24th Judicial Circuit Court of Virginia since 2008, elected by the Virginia General Assembly to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Hon. Samuel Johnston
