### Professional career

- 1972 – Appointed Associate Judge, Delaware Superior Court
- three years in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, graduating from the Judge Advocate General’s School at the University of Virginia in 1956

- Joseph Thomas Walsh (May 18, 1930 – August 15, 2014) was an American jurist and one of Delaware’s most prominent judges, serving on the Delaware Supreme Court for nearly two decades
- Admitted to the District of Columbia Bar in 1954 and the Delaware Bar in 1955, Walsh was law clerk to Chief Judge Paul Leahy of the U.S. District Court for Delaware Find a Grave
- He also held the role of adjunct professor at Widener University School of Law, co‐founder of the Carpenter‐Walsh Delaware Pro Bono American Inn of Court, and director of the Einstein Institute for Science, Health and the Courts
