Scope: statewide

Electronic media and still-photography coverage is allowed in Florida public trial and appellate proceedings under Rule 2.450's equipment and conduct standards, always subject to the presiding judge's control of decorum, distractions, and fair administration.

Evidence excerpt: Subject at all times to the authority of the presiding judge to: (i) control the conduct of proceedings before the court; (ii) ensure decorum and prevent distractions; and (iii) ensure the fair administration of justice in the pending cause, electronic media and still photography coverage of public judicial proceedings in the appellate and trial courts of this state shall be allowed

## Biography

### Professional career

- Appointed judge of the Florida Sixth District Court of Appeal, serving since November 2025 under Governor Ron DeSantis
- Before his judicial appointment, Judge Pratt held the role of an Administrative Law Judge at the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings since 2024.
- Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Judge Pratt to the Sixth District Court of Appeal on November 7, 2025 (November 10, 2025, with assumption of office November 17, 2025)
- Earlier in his career, he was a senior associate and then of counsel attorney at Holtzman Vogel Sixth District Court of Appeal
- He also held government roles as assistant general counsel and deputy general counsel in the Executive Office of the Governor Sixth District Court of Appeal
- After graduation, he held the role of a staff attorney to Florida Supreme Court Justice Charles T. Canady and as a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judges Sidney A. Fitzwater and Lee Ann Reno Sixth District Court of Appeal.
